I always knew, ever since my childhood
I wouldn`t see the white butterfly in the spring
That meant a SAD summer, summer and sorrow hand in hand
Oh I didn`t want to believe it
In the beginning of summer
Only white butterflies were swarming
They were everywhere
Though I didn`t believe them, I foresaw evil
My heart foresaw sorrow, my heart foresaw DEATH
The summer came, hot and in full bloom
It was sunny and people were happy
Voices on radio talked of tension but we didn´t listen to them
Didn`t want to hear the thunder of aeroplanes
We hadn`t seen DEATH
We hadn`t seen ruins
Life had been good to us
Now, in the middle of the summer
We saw ALL we hadn`t seen before
It`s the Summer of the White Butterfly
The blaze of a thousand suns
This summer won`t leave any memories
Even sorrow and joy will become one
The summer came bleeding
DEATH raining from the sky, DEATH exuding from the sea
The earth was lifeless
Guarded only by vultures and white butterflies
The summer was cruel, the summer was hot
The world was full of colourful suns
Radios fell silent, no listeners left
No need to listen, you could see it yourself
We saw DEATH, we saw ruins
Life was still good to us
At the end of the summer, life was still good to us
The Summer of the White Butterfly is over
It`s time for the winter of a thousand years
We endured the summer, we`ll endure the winter
The winter full of white butterflies
The Summer of the White Butterfly is over
It`s the beginning of a new world
We endured the summer, we`ll endure the winter
While we wait for a brand new spring
